Killarney Fun Run/Walk

for Summer Camp Scholarships: May 16

Do you run, walk, or like the outdoors? This scenic course will be about a 5K which includes sloping hills, lake views, paved roads, wildlife, and dirt roads.. We will have two water stations, route monitors, and a band to congratulate you at the finish! Packet pick-up begins at 8:00 am with a race start time of 10:00am. Register by mail by April 30th and the $19 race fee will include parking, post race refreshments, awards, & a t-shirt. Enrollment forms available here & at WELS churches. Late & race day registration available for $27. Still a MAYBE? Well, do it for the campers!

Who: Anyone who is physically able and is healthy to run/walk in an outdoor exercise event.


$19 early bird on or before April 30; Students 12 and under $10
$27 after April 15 and on race day; Students 12 and under $15
Kidron Kid Run: Free to kids 12 and under!


How long is the run?

The Fun Run will be approximately a 5K beginning and ending at Killarney Lutheran Camp. Roads will not be closed but race volunteers will stop traffic to accommodate runners in a given area.

How do we register?

Print the online registration form and mail it to the race coordinator/camp director. Click here for form

Will their be race numbers? How and where do we check-in? When do we get our shirt?

Each participant will receive a race day number that can be pinned to their shirt. All runners/walkers must check in a the beach pavilion. If you pre-registered, your shirt will be available at check-in.

Will we be timed?

Yes, we will be using the Sprint 8 timing system provided by Onsted Public Schools. We will have timers monitoring the finishers and will post results later that day online.

Will there be place awards?

The top three runners in the Fun Run will receive a race award. All times at the discretion of the volunteer race timers.

Can I bring a stroller or pets?

Pets are not allowed on the run. Since the terrain is very steep in some areas, strollers are not recommended. If you require a stroller be sure it is and all terrain stroller. All runners/walkers using a stroller must start the race at the back of the group.

Will there be heats?

No there will not be heats. We just ask that runners line up first, followed by walkers and those with strollers.

What is the Kidron Kids Run?

This run is less than a mile and will be run through the camp property. It will be designed for children of all ages and will include chasing our own Killarney Green Thing to the finish line. Who will catch him? All children 12 and under participating will receive a fun Killarney award! No strollers. Must be old enough to run. This event is FREE and will begin around Noon following the 5K . Parents must be present in the viewing area.

Will there be childcare during the 5K?

We will have a kids club for children 6 and older that is staffed by our camp counselors. The space will be very limited and a waiver MUST be signed by a parent to stay. The fee for Kid's Club is $5. Kids club will be first come first served. Paperwork available at check-in. Kids club available from 9:45am - 11:30am only.

Can my child run with me?

Yes..this is a family event! It is required that all children be directly supervised by their parent at all times during the run. All children (even strollers) MUST be officially registered and pay the appropriate entry fee.

Is there a race close time?

Yes, all runners must complete the course by noon. We will have race monitors pacing the run so you are aware of the time remaining.

Will there be a first aide station?

Yes, there will be a staff person certified in basic first aid to assist you in your needs.

Will there be post race snacks?

Yes, upon crossing the finish line all registered runners/walkers may pick up a post race snack under the beach pavilion. We kindly ask that only PAID participants take a snack.

Can I bring my youth group or track team?

Yes, Groups are welcome. We encourage all coaches and leaders to consider using this a great training or team-building event. Group rates may be available by contacting

Can I camp for the weekend?

Yes! Camping is available in our 30 site campground. Reservations for that weekend can be made by calling 517-467-4511. Click for camping fees

Can I volunteer?

Yes. The entire Run is operated by volunteers. If you are interested in helping, please contact Julie Dostal at Volunteers receive a free t-shirt and are welcome to join other volunteers in a post race volunteer potluck and bbq.

I am not a runner, but I want to be a race sponsor?
